The Dillon Beach Emergency Response Team (DBERT) was formed when a group of local residents got together and said “We’ve got to get organized!” Most of the communities around Dillon Beach had already completed their disaster planning and had taken the necessary steps to prepare for a disaster. Many of the DBERT members have now completed CERT training and are able to work as Area Coordinators in the event of an emergency or disaster. The members include residents from the Village, Oceana Marin, Lawson’s Landing, and Portola Beach (the 15 houses located between the beach parking lot and the campground).
